YES! You won't go wrong buying a discount helmet from HJC or
KBC. HJC today has really upscaled their helmets and KBC in
many ways has filled the lower bracket niche. Shoei and Arai
continue to dominate the upper motorcycle helmet bracket by
offering very pricey helmets with a lot of safety and
comfort features.
Motorcycle Helmets usually sell at full price at the
beginning of the riding season. You will notice that
retailers will begin discounting them during the middle of
the season and at the end of the season. A discount helmet
can be had quite easily by the time the end of the year is
near. Close outs are quite common, especially on models that
did not sell as well or were over produced. Don't expect too
many discounts or close outs on the best selling helmets.
So, my advice on buying a discount motorcycle helmet? Wait
till the end of the season, you may be getting an older
model helmet, but who cares, you'll be paying almost half
price!
